Tips for Buying a Bonsai for Christmas

Tips for Buying a Bonsai for Christmas

*1.* Try an alleged bonsai specialist or garden center where the
staff in the selection of bonsai, can buy them the most of your
needs. Indoor or outdoor, light shade, the right temperature, etc.
They can give you advice on the best position to keep your tree and
how to care for her. If they do not know, do not buy!

*2.* Make sure that the type of tree you buy and you know in a
comprehensive care guide, as it may make sense. A label is not enough.

*3.* Check whether the floor is wet and the foliage is large, healthy
and undamaged. (Deciduous trees are the exception to this in the
fall, as leaves fall. These trees should be bare in winter

*4.* Avoid buying at supermarkets and hardware stores. Chances are
good that the bonsai not see light or water for several days. They
may be cheap, but it is a false economy
if they die soon after you buy them.

*5.* Make sure the place you buy has a follow-up service, so you can
for further consultation, repotting, etc. Everywhere else back and
you are on your own.

*6.* Do not allow bonsai seems shaky in the pot, or looks like a
branch stuck in the ground. The tree should form a balanced and good
anchor roots and should be in a proper bonsai pot with good drainage
holes.

*7.* Finally, select the tree that appeals to you and you feel that
you are correct meaning. It need not be perfect, like a bonsai is an
ongoing project, and there are
always room for improvement. If taken care it should last for years
and give you hours of pleasure

*8.* Make sure the person you would like to buy a bonsai and will
appreciate.

*9.* Be sure that they have to worry about right, and not push them
into a corner and forget about it.

*10.* Do not give a Bonsai to someone who is away a lot or is not
good for the care of plants.

*11.* Do not buy too early before Christmas so that you do mind and
hide it away until it day.Shoving in the bottom of the wardrobe is
not an option is his.

Christmas Safety Tips For Pets

Christmas Safety Tips For Pets

We want pet owners to be aware of potential dangers to their
pets this holiday season. Below are some tips to remember as
you _deck the halls:_

[1]

*Holiday poinsettias, mistletoe, evergreen needles and the
Japanese Yew are plants that pose dangers to pets.*

The needles of evergreens are not toxic but can become
lodged in the throat or stomach of your pet. Poinsettias
and mistletoe are very toxic. The bright red berries and
bark of the Japanese Yew will cause death to animals

*Beware of open flames.*

Candles, menorahs and fireplace fires can be dazzling for your dog or
cat. Candles can also be knocked over by curious pets and cause a fire
in your home. Do not wait for your pet to learn on its own that fire
is dangerous.
[2]

*Chocolate is a deadly treat.*

Chocolate has a toxic effect on animals, especially dogs. Unsweetened
chocolate, often used for baking, is the most dangerous.

*Keep holiday ornaments and decorations out of your pet's reach.*

Ribbon, tinsel, electrical cords and edible decorations sometimes
attract curious mouths.
[3]

*Antifreeze tastes sweet and delicious to your pet, but is a deadly
poison.*

Do not let your pet drink out of puddles and be sure to flush radiator
drainage spots in your garage with water immediately. There are now
several companies that produce brands of antifreeze that is not only
safer for pets, but are more environmentally sound. Be sure and ask
for those brands next time you are at the store.

Planting Christmas Tree Seeds

Planting Christmas Tree Seeds

Since Friday was Arbor Day, we decided to plant Christmas tree seeds
as our daily advent activity.  Luckily, I'd bought a miniature pot
with seeds and a soil disk from the dollar section of Target a couple
of weeks ago, so this worked out perfectly for us.

First, O opened her advent activity container.  She loves opening the
containers to find out the activity.

Then we put the soil disk in a bowl with lukewarm water.  She put the
soil in the pot.

She then pressed 5 seeds into the pot.

O was very proud of planting her Christmas tree seeds.  This was a
great simple  and fun activity!

5 last minute Christmas Travel Ideas - Part 1

5 last minute Christmas Travel Ideas - Part 1

* *

For some of November is late for booking travel around the Christmas
holidays. But any travel agency or airline / hotel reservation service
agent knows the refrain this time of year - ". I just want to just go
somewhere warm, where I have a good business"

This year, the answer is unfortunately "The combined option does not
really exist." (Okay, so we turned up a joke in Fresno Motel Six with
the heat.) But realistically about 18 for travel between December 2nd
January. A creative agent can still place, but bargains are rare. It
is high season and airline companies, hotels and cruise ships all
know it.

This does not mean it is not some place out there, it's just not
cheap, even the less expensive options. Dealers know that someone of
the year, the prices paid.

I just had to ask an old friend for a lot to Mexico to find that he
has been willing to travel Christmas Day and since Mexico had some
negativity advertising with crime, he should be able to something
very inexpensive to get to a really nice hotel in Puerto Vallarta.

Actually meant to leave Christmas I was a collective of San Francisco
for under $ 700 round trip, how about $ 1220 for a connection leaving
the 26th Contrary to find, but also three-star hotels are charging
close to $ 300. The Marriott, for example, one of the better-priced
top resorts starts at $ 349 per night plus tax than half, however,
that in January.

Suffice it to say, that was not the "big" he had hoped. He decided
not to go.

So what? A quick answer is to change the date. However, frequently,
either for school or work schedules that week between Christmas and
New Year, or the week before Christmas, which may be taken only once
a winter vacation people. Here are five suggestions for an
unforgettable journey that will still prevent the worst of sticker
shock.

*5 last minute Christmas Travel Ideas No.1*

Travelers life in one day by car, or a short flight, the port can
consider a cruise. Yes, increase their prices cruise lines as much as
other vendors, but eliminates the driving airfare problem. (Last
year, my family and I took a cruise for a week to Mexico, and
throughout the week, what would it cost for three airline tickets to
Hawaii or Mexico.)

*5 last minute Christmas Travel Ideas No.2*

Consider a "lukewarm" City or recreation area. Translation look,
part of the United States that are not swimsuit weather can have
guaranteed. At least you are guaranteed not have to work around with
snow and the temperatures are usually very comfortable.

San Diego, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and San Antonio have, for example,
all the average December temperature in the 60s. The temperatures
are warmer, colder, or for that matter, but you can usually leave your
gloves and winter coats in the hotel room.

Plus, cities like San Francisco and New Orleans, while more heavy
rain and cooler are, are not usually miserable towards the end of the
year.

*5 last minute Christmas Travel Ideas No.3*

Let us consider a cold weather city with a lot of indoor attractions.
While ski areas are packed during the holidays, cities such as
Washington DC, Chicago and New York not (with exceptions around New
Year's Eve.)

to enjoy your children, shopping, museums and good restaurants, there
is much to be done without freezing. Another advantage that may be
true across the country, is that hotels, which usually can take care
of business and drastically reduce their prices around the holidays,
which means there is a possibility, a five-star hotel in a two- or
three-star price.

Here are a few examples, the Fairmont Washington, DC has prices from
about $ 169, a suite at the luxury London hotel in New York (near the
Museum of Modern Art) at $ 300, and the Sofitel in Chicago prices
From $ 179th

(Note: This is not even considering the "opague" sites such as
Priceline, where travelers will receive a contract when they are
ready not to the name of the hotel know or make special room
requests, although add on this issue, many travel agents free
breakfast, and can are. upgrades in installments through alliances
or connections.)

*5 last minute Christmas Travel Ideas No.4*

Travelers with passports may consider Europe. Now, international
airline taxes and fees, which now make more than $ 400 per ticket and
the weak dollar now this option more expensive. But from 24 for the
Travel December and later to Europe from the U.S. are usually cheaper
than flights to Hawaii and the Caribbean, as long as the return on 1
January, or 2 is not a necessity.

While cities such as London and Paris, for example, going to be cold,
they are generally warmer than most U.S. cities of the east coast.
They also have the same advantages of indoor attractions and hotel
rates are lower than usual.

*5 last minute Christmas Travel Ideas No.5*

The fantasy staycation. do travelers who may live near a city either
day trip vacation, or splurge on a hotel within a few hours from
home. The money saved on flights and car hire can either be saved to
pay for a lot of little treats, or on this tropical beach holiday,
next year.

Tips For An Eco-friendly Holiday

Tips For An Eco-friendly Holiday

The Christmas period may not be a burden on the environment. Small
changes in what we can do to reduce the impact this holiday season.

Replace your holiday lights with energy efficient LED lights.
According to Energy Star, LED lamps consume about 70% leave less
energy and last up to 10 times longer than traditional holiday
strands. The lights are for themselves in energy savings in less than
five years! For a typical holiday tree with 1,100 lights and running
lights for six hours every day of the week can expect to save up to $
8 per month or 70 kilowatt hours of electricity, by using LED
lighting. The best part is that they are virtually everywhere and they
come in different shapes, colors and sizes. There are also those
weather-resistant for outdoor use! Even if one goes out, the train
still works. I'm still amazed that most of us are 180 hours of
electricity per month illuminate our trees this holiday season and use
our holiday decorations.

Use a power strip for your holiday decorations. Using the On / Off
switch on a power strip you can turn off completely decorations.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 75% of the electricity to
power consumer electronics and home appliances is actually consumed
when they are turned off. This can be as much as 10 percent of a home
is a total energy use.

Think of the gifts you choose to give. The choice of gifts from
recycled helps reduce the waste stream. Also give battery gifts.
According to the EPA, 40% of all sales happen battery this time of
year. Even batteries find their way into the trash and waste (both
types) are a danger to the environment. Check out some fantastic
eco-friendly gift options that do not require batteries!

Choose a live tree. Although an artificial tree can be used, year
after year, real trees are still the more sustainable choice. Finally,
artificial trees (produced from petroleum products) will end up in the
landfill and its contents are plastic, they last forever. Live trees
are a renewable resource grown in nurseries. As they grow, they
contribute to improved air quality and 90% reduction in mulch after
the holidays. Live plants tend to be grown locally and sold.

Run the old electronics. If it appears the latest version of an
electronic gift under your tree, make sure you recycle your old one.
Older models of computer monitors, laptops, cell phones, etc. on
shelters donated. Just as Best Buy stores will recycle you pay these
things!

Reuse boxes and gift wrapping materials. Throughout the year, I
personally think all the fields that I think are using, I can order
gifts came in the box, whether wind or Amazon Green Earth Bamboo. I
also think the tissue paper to enclose with the gift. A trick I
learned from my grandmother that we actually increased iron gift wrap!
It turns out as good as new. If you get gift bags, these are very easy
to reuse.

I hope these suggestions will help care for the Earth and celebrate
the season! Be sure to visit Green Earth News "Green Grand section is
live for more environmentally friendly!

10 Best Christmas Songs

10 Best Christmas Songs

*1. Billy Squier's* - Christmas is the time to say I love you. [1]
(This was the intro music for Saturday's non-prophets and it's
downloadable content in Rock Band...what's not to love?)

*2. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - Snowmeiser Heatmeiser [2]*
(This hip reworking of the Rankin/Bass classic is one I can listen to
over and over and over and...)

*3. The Waitresses* *- Christmas Wrapping [3]*
(This video includes decent audio and a geeky synchronized Xmas light
show.)

*4. John Lennon* *- Happy Christmas (War is over) [4]*
(What's not to love?)

*5. Robert Earl Keene's* *- Merry Christmas from the Family [5]*
(If parts of this song seem mildly familiar - you might be a redneck)

*6. Brenda Lee's* - *Rockin Around the Christmas Tree [6]*
(How did this miss even an honorable mention on Greta's list?)
*7. Elmo and Patsy's* - *Grandma got run over by a reindeer [7]*
(Unfortunately, I was only able to find this and remixes and not the
original version)

*8. The Beach Boys* - *Little Saint Nick [8]*
(This was close...but from the opening notes, I just want to listen to
it.)

*9. Gene Autry* - *Here Comes Santa Claus [9]*
(Yes, it says "say your prayers" "thanks to the lord above" and I
couldn't care less...)

*10. Dean Martin* - *Baby it's cold outside [10]*
(Because it's my list and there has to be some Deano...Sway isn't
sufficiently Christmas-y, but this counts. Winter Wonderland is nice,
but this is better.)
